Thank you!

Thank you to all of our campers from 2016.  We hope you all had a great summer and will come back for many more!  We feel like camp makes us all a family and hope you feel the same way, the experiences you have at camp become memories that you will cherish forever.

Next summer we are planning to have more options for 2 and 1 week sessions, though we hope that you will stay for as long as possible.  Camp in 2017 will start on June 25 and run through August 20, so save the dates!

The annual camp reunion to the PA National Horse Show Grand Prix is on Saturday, October 22.  Hope you can make it, click here for the permission slip and details!

Week 6 at Camp

We had a fantastic week at camp with tons of evening trails, jumping lessons, and field trips.  Our neighbor Page came and brought us two ponies to try out, we ended up keeping one and will use her in lessons for camp! Very exciting to have the campers be a part of the buying process.

Our lovely neighbor Brooks Cushman invited all the campers over to visit her farm one evening.  Brooks' 14, yes 14!, dogs greeted the campers enthusiastically! She gave a tour of her farm and had snacks and drinks for all the girls. Over the years Brooks has let us borrow great horses such as Sunbeam and Bolder for our camp and lesson programs.

Week 3 at camp

We started the week off with a bang..... Literally! Since the forecast looked grim for Monday 4th of July, we celebrated early on Sunday with some awesome fireworks provided by a neighbor as well as a bonfire and s'mores.

We welcomed 5 new campers this week with trails, lessons, and a dinner trip to Cicis pizza. This weekend lots of girls competed in the Spottswood Horse show. More pics to come, but enjoy these in the meantime!

Week 2 at camp

Week 2 brought us our first series of cross country lessons for our campers. For many it was the first time they'd ridden in an open field and gotten to attempt our XC jumps! They all did great and are now in love with riding outside the ring.  The field trip this week was to the local Drive In movie theater in Lexington, VA.  What a treasure that place is!

Friday morning we had a gymkhana, where the camp was split up into teams to do relay races on horse back. Note some of the pictures with painted horse and campers. The potato and spoon race was fun, as well as the donut race and apple bobbing!  Sunday we took all the girls to the Breezy River Stables horse show where everyone got ribbons and we had several champions and reserve champions among the campers!

We did our own fireworks, complete with a bonfire, s'mores, and sparklers last night as rain has canceled some area events for the evening. Tonight we head to the famed CiCi's pizza for dinner!

Week 1 at Camp

We had a fantastic first week of camp at New Meadow farm. Yes, there was one or two days of crazy storms, but we managed to keep power and avoid the flooding. We rode everyday, sometimes 3 times a day! There was the Raphine County Fair, the Roanoke Valley Grand Prix, the Glenmore Huntclub scavenger hunt, as well as daily lessons and trails. Today we said goodbye to our good friends Savannah and Izzy. But we said hello to new friends as well! Enjoy the pictures from our week on our Flickr account (link below). And don't forget to follow us on Instagram and Facebook!
