The Nan Scholarship Fund
The Nan Scholarship Fund provides a once-in-a-life-time opportunity for girls who have demonstrated a love of horses and riding — but would not otherwise have the financial means — to attend the overnight riding camp at New Meadow.
For many years Caroline Canavan's mother, Pamela "Nan" Warmington, was a central figure at both Ashford and New Meadow farms. When Nan died suddenly in 2006, many who knew her wanted to create a lasting tribute to her. Of all the possibilities, one stood out — a camp scholarship that would allow a young girl to attend summer riding camp at the farm Nan loved.
Wife of a steeplechase jockey. Mother to riding professionals. Grandmother to riding instructors and competitors. Great-grandmother to a new generation of riders. Nan also served as matriarch, nurse, counselor and cook for the hundreds of girls who have spent magical summers at New Meadow's overnight riding camp since 1992.
Funding & donations
Through the generosity of contributors and the work of the scholarship committee, we have sponsored campers each summer since 2008. Our major fundraisers are our fall horse show and annual appeal. But you can also help to sponsor a camper by following the links on this page.
