New Meadow is a working farm situated on 365 acres at the southern end of Virginia's Shenandoah Valley. The property includes a main house, an office, three bunkhouses, an art center, a rec room, a 16-stall barn, a swimming pool, a covered ring, an outdoor ring, a dressage arena, miles of cross-country trails and outdoor jumping courses. These facilities are maintained as well as updated on an ongoing basis to help ensure the safety and broaden the experience of not only our summer campers but also other guests throughout the year.
Riding, Boarding and Training
From September to May, when camp is not in session, arrangements can be made for lessons, cross-country trails, short-term boarding and training horses. For more information, please call Anita Warmington at 540-290-5790.
New Meadow is about three hours southwest of Washington, 30 minutes northeast of Lexington, 45 minutes southwest of Charlottesville, and two hours northwest of Richmond. The nearest airports are the Charlottesville-Abermarle Airport in Charlottesville, Virginia (about 40 minutes from New Meadow) or the Shenandoah Valley Regional Airport near Weyers Cave (about 45 minutes with shuttles from Dulles).
From the North on Route 81: Take the Pennsylvania Turnpike west to the Carlisle exit. Stay left after the tollbooth. Take 11 North for one mile to 81 South. Take 81 South through Maryland and West Virginia into Virginia. Take Greenville Exit 213A (Route 11 South) two miles to Route 675 (Broadhead School Road). Turn right and follow to the dead end. Turn left onto Route 604. Follow to the first left, Lotts Road. Take Lotts Road over a small bridge and follow two miles to New Meadow on the right. If hauling a large trailer, take Route 81 to Raphine Exit 205 and follow directions for getting to New Meadow from the South.
From the South on Route 81: Take Raphine Exit 205. Then follow Route 606 west past the Rockbridge Vineyard. Turn right onto Route 919 (Stoners Hill Road). Stay on 919 for about 1.5 miles, then turn left onto Route 620 (Newport Road). Stay on 620 for about 1.8 miles and turn right onto Route 604 (Lotts Road). New Meadow will be about 1.2 miles on the left.
